Radio Host Deliah’s Son Zachariah Commits Suicide
Delilah, the radio host whose mission is to "share your life and love, heart ache and triumphs," has been hit by a family tragedy.
On Saturday, Delilah broke some “devastating" news on Facebook, writing, "In the early morning hours, Tuesday, October 3, my son, Zachariah, took his life.”
"He was being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now," she continued. "My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on...but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through.”
The 57-year-old, known as the “queen of sappy love songs,” ended her note by writing, "Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression."
Zachariah's age at the time of his death is unknown. Her 12 remaining children, biological and adopted, range in age from 8 to 37.
Delilah announced over the weekend that she is taking a break from radio and social media to “grieve and try to process this loss.”
Five years ago, Delilah lost her son Sammy, who died from complications from sickle cell anemia at the age of 16.
