Why Julia Roberts Says She Could Never Be in a Cop Show
Julia Roberts was all smiles at the L.A. premiere of "Secret in Their Eyes," her new film with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Nicole Kidman.
The actress, who looked stunning in Givenchy, talked to "Extra's" Renee Bargh about her role, and about working with hubby Danny Moder, who was the cinematographer on the film.
Julia told Renee, "As [Danny] says, the hard work is behind us, so this is just the night to enjoy and celebrate, and it's sort of the calm before the storm of what everyone thinks, so this is really that sweet little moment of happiness."
When Renee asked if the couple offered each other feedback, Julia replied, "It's just about support and ushering each other along energetically." Roberts put a lot of energy into her role in "Secret in Their Eyes," playing a detective out to avenge her daughter's murder. The mom of three admitted she didn't necessarily enjoy using a gun. "It's not fun. I don't like to hold a gun. I realize I could never be on a cop show."
The actress is also passionate about anti-bullying, revealing how she protects her children. "Arm them with their own voice and their own set of concepts, and rules, and ideas of how we should all behave in the world, and the golden rule, and all those things are absolutely the power that every child should be equipped with."
"Secret in Their Eyes" opens in theaters November 20.
