Charlize Theron's Heartfelt Acceptance Speech to Her Adopted Kids at MTV Movie Awards
On Saturday, actress Charlize Theron dedicated her MTV Movie Awards win to one special person… her daughter August, who she adopted in July!
After taking home the award for Best Female Performance for her work on "Mad Max: Fury Road,” she said, "Tonight I accept this award on behalf of my own little Furiosa, my daughter, August Simone, and on behalf of all the Furiosas out there.”
She continued, "The story of 'Fury Road' is in part a story of the power of women and the power to create our own destinies."
Theron also didn't forget to thank her 4-year-old son, Jackson, who she adopted in 2012. She gushed, "I want to thank my beautiful son Jackson for putting a smile on my face every day. He was with me while I made this film.”
Charlize also made sure to show appreciation to the fans and the director of the Oscar-winning film. She shared, "I really have to thank my director, George Miller. I am so honored and so humbled to work with such an epic visionary. And I want to thank you guys, the fans... Seriously, I want to thank you all. This movie is because of you and because of your support."
