Say What? Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne’s Awkward Encounter at Ozzfest Event
Fans were in shock on Thursday when Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne reunited for an Ozzfest and Slipknot event.
The couple split over the weekend after Sharon reportedly found out Ozzy was cheating with a celebrity hairdresser. Sharon even addressed the split on “The Talk,” confirming that she had moved out of the house.
Nobody expected Sharon to be at the event, especially as a presenter. The crowd witnessed an especially awkward moment when Sharon was introducing the members of Black Sabbath and Slipknot. Ozzy took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her from behind, a gesture that appeared to displease her.
The two bands were at the Hollywood Palladium to announce Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, which will take place September 24 and 25 at the San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Ground in San Bernardino, California.
After the event, Sharon explained to “Extra's” Terri Seymour why she wanted to be there. “Ozzfest has kind of been my baby for 20 years. Then, [we] came up with bringing the two festivals together because the guys from Slipknot have been our friends from day one, and I just thought it was a great way for Sabbath to do their last show in California.”
Sharon even took the high road, praising Ozzy's passion for performing. “It's one of those things where he's always complaining, 'Oh, my back, my neck, this, that, the other. I can't do this.' And he walks around like he's really not well. And then as soon as he hits that stage — boom, he's a different person… It's the place where's he's truly happiest.”
She is happy to be keeping busy not only managing Ozzy, but with her own ventures like “The Talk,” going back and forth to London, and possibly returning to “Britain's Got Talent.” “I'm like a gypsy — I'll never slow down. I don't know where I get it from.”
Ozzy also talked to Terri, confirming that he is sober. “Over three years now. It's not that long. But it's good enough for me.”
He's excited to take the stage and bring Ozzfest and Knotfest together. “It's great. It's unbelievable. Bigger than I ever imagined it would be.”
He made it clear that Sharon is still in charge when Terri asked if the merger would change Ozzfest as fans know it. “I don't' know. Ask the boss,” he said. “Ask my wife.”
On the same day, TMZ cameras caught hairdresser Michelle Pugh, the alleged other woman, arriving at Meche Salon in Beverly Hills. Pugh stayed mum when the cameras asked her about Sharon, who has reportedly started interviewing divorce lawyers.
