Michael Strahan on His New TV Show with Courteney Cox
Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports Awards host Michael Strahan hit the red carpet ahead of the big show. “Extra” Special Correspondent Colton Underwood caught up with the star, who talked about his latest project featuring Courteney Cox.
Michael is one of the busiest men in Hollywood, and he's adding executive producer to his resume with a scripted show for Spectrum Originals.
The show is based on the Netflix docuseries "Last Chance U," about Brittany Wagner, an academic advisor at East Mississippi Community College who helps athletes hoping to go pro.
Michael said, “We developed her story with my production company SMAC and Courteney is going to join us and play Brittany… It really goes deeper into who Brittany is as a person and how she is really helping so many kids out there. Courteney is the perfect person, the perfect partner, coming back to TV, which is exciting, and they are both from Alabama which is exciting.”
Michael just returned from his hometown of Houston, where he hosted “Good Morning America” and shared his favorite thing to do at home, “Eat, eat, eat. I had mama's food, I had BBQ… There is nothing like going home. I gain weight when I go home.”
He was loving being back to host the Kids' Choice Sports Awards, saying, “It's a family show, which I love.”
Michael's 14-year-old twin girls Sophia and Isabella were there to root him on. Their advice? “Have fun” and “don't mess it up.”
He also confessed, “I make them nervous doing this show... they make me nervous when they ride horses in competitions, because I am like, 'Don't mess up, don't fall.'”
