Daisy Ridley Responds to Body Shamer: 'I Will Not Apologize for How I Look'
On Wednesday, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress Daisy Ridley fired back at a body-shaming hater on Instagram.
An Instagram user posted a meme of Ridley as Rey, which read, "I can't believe the unrealistic expectations I'm setting for young girls. Who cast me anyway? Don't they know real women have curves?” After seeing the meme, she decided to repost it and write, "Real women are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don't have families. I'm a 'real woman' like every other women in this world."
After the user received a barrage of backlash from Ridley fans, the actress decided to delete the post and replace it with another statement, writing, "Guys it was not my intention for anyone to send messages to that poor person that posted the original picture. My whole post is about being kind to each other, so please refrain!”
In the lengthy Instagram post, Daisy defended her image and her character Rey. Read it below!

Daisy isn't the only star from the film to be criticized for her body; co-star Carrie Fisher also had her fair share of Twitter trolls. She said to one Twitter user in December, "Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well. Unfortunately it hurts all three of my feelings. My BODY hasn't aged as well as I have."
@carrieffisher So you want the money & adulation that comes with being a famous actor but not the criticism. Whoever told you life was fair?
