Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton have reunited nearly 30 years after "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" for "Terminator: Dark Fate." The duo was with “Extra's” Jenn Lahmers to chat about the film, directed by Tim Miller of "Deadpool" fame.
Arnold also commented on his daughter Katherine's married life with Chris Pratt, saying everything is "good" with the couple, who wed in June. Arnold revealed he has some of animal lover Katherine's pets from before her marriage, saying, "I have my own animals at home. I have all the animals that my daughter Katherine leaves behind, Whiskey the miniature pony that I got Katherine 17 years ago… We also had a miniature pig not too long ago… She just loves animals… I enjoy them, actually, but she's now in Atlanta because Chris is filming in Atlanta, so that is why she cannot take care of the animals."

View StoryLinda and Arnold said they were happy to be working together again. Linda said of the experience, "Beyond thrilling. Absolutely. We'll not lose this guy again. We sort of stayed in touch until he became governor, and then you don't really call and go, 'Hey, let me talk to the governor!'" She went on to say, "And I left Hollywood… but was so thrilled to see him on our first day together."
For Arnold, the feeling was mutual! He said, "It was also great for me… She's just so good and brings so much energy on the screen and raises the bar higher all the time for action women… And this movie, she came in 28 years later — age of 60 — and still kicked ass… and was as good with the action scenes and the fight scenes as she was in 1991. That's really extraordinary."
Linda said she worked with a trainer to get ready "for a year before I started." For her, "It was no carbs, prepared meals, Pilates, physical therapy… Sometimes three times a day we would work out… But then you have to do the weapons training, military training, the stunts, scuba, Spanish. There's not a moment that's not occupied by learning a certain set of skills."
Arnold, 72, described coming back to work after heart surgery a year ago, saying, "Under normal circumstances, you would not come back that quickly. I think that the movie motivated me… I used it as a motivation to get out of bed to start walking and to start exercising as quickly as possible."
Crediting the franchise for his successful career, Schwarzenegger said, "I think that after 'Terminator 1,' I was offered many action movies and my career kind of skyrocketed. These things have a spillover effect. Even when I ran for governor, a lot of people voted for me because they thought they were voting for the Terminator."
“Terminator: Dark Fate” is in theaters Friday.
