Donald Trump Settles with NBC, Completely Owns Miss Universe
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce that he has settled his lawsuits with NBC over Miss Universe, and now has full ownership of the pageant.
The Donald tweeted, “Just purchased NBC's half of The Miss Universe Organization and settled all lawsuits against them. Now own 100% — stay tuned!”
In June, Donald and NBC parted ways after he made controversial remarks about immigrants while announcing that he was running for president.
After the relationship went sour, NBC decided not to air the Miss USA pageant, which is co-produced by Trump. He also sued Univision for $500 million after the network refused to air the Miss USA pageant, which is still pending.
Earlier this year, Donald agreed to step down from his hosting duties on NBC's “The Apprentice” to focus on his presidential run.
This news comes right before The Donald's scheduled appearance on NBC's “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Friday.
