Former NFL Player Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty in Murder Trial, Second Trial Coming Later this Year
Jurors in the trial of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez have found him guilty of first degree murder, which carries an automatic sentence of life without parole. He was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Hernandez's mother and fiancée were seen crying in the courtroom.
Hernandez was accused of shooting and killing his one-time friend Odin Lloyd in the early morning hours of June 17 in an industrial park in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. He was arrested along with two other men in connection with Lloyd's death.
Later this year, Hernandez faces a second trial in which he is charged with shooting two men to death outside a nightclub in Boston.
