Luann de Lesseps on Why Rehab Saved Her Life
“Extra's” AJ Calloway spoke to “The Real Housewives of New York's” Luann de Lesseps today about what her life is like following her widely publicized arrest for disorderly intoxication in December, followed by a stint in rehab.
She told AJ, “I've learned a lot... It was a rough thing to go through personally and embarrassing and something that I'm not proud of. I'm not perfect, I screwed up and I hope that people can see that.”
Luann says her “Housewives” cast members have been there for her, sharing, “The ladies have been very supportive... They all reached out to me."
She added, "In particular, Bethenny [Frankel] has been amazing... She recognizes what I've been through and where I've come to.”
She says “sobriety, yoga and cabaret” have helped her through the past few months, revealing, “I feel like I've been through the ringer. I found my calling, which is the cabaret show... It encompasses everything I like to do. I love to sing, I love to tell jokes and I love to hold court and be the hostess. Cabaret is the perfect venue for me.”
Luann also told AJ that she's done with alcohol, “At this point in my life, I don't want to drink, nor do I have interest in drinking. Rehab saved my life. It was the best thing that I could do for myself and I'm so glad I did that.”
“The Real Housewives of New York” returns for Season 10 this Wednesday on Bravo.
