Simon Cowell Says Kodi Lee’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ Performance Left Him ‘Slightly Speechless’
Extra's Terri Seymour caught up with judge and executive producer Simon Cowell on the “America's Got Talent” red carpet last night at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where he greeted contestant Kodi Lee, who had just stunned the audience with an inspiring version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Simon complimented Kodi, a blind singer with autism, saying, “He may have stolen the show tonight. It was one of the best versions of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' I think I've ever heard.”
When Simon asked Kodi if it felt good, he replied, “Heck, yeah!”
Simon also pointed out to Kodi, “Why do you get better every time you do this? How about you enter the show every year?”
Cowell told Kodi's mom Tina, “That was one of the most amazing endings of a show I have ever done, genuinely, in all the years I've ever done this. I was slightly speechless.”
Lee first wowed America with his audition, singing “A Song for You,” getting the Golden Buzzer from judge Gabrielle Union.
“America's Got Talent” airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on NBC.
