Nick Gordon Ordered to Pay $36 Million for Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Death
Bobbi Kristina Brown's ex-boyfriend Nick Gordon has a huge problem on his hands.
A judge has ordered Gordon to pay $36 million in damages after he was found “legally responsible” for Bobbi Kristina's death in a wrongful death suit, the Associated Press reports.
After the court decision, Bobbi Kristina's dad Bobby Brown said, “I am pleased with the outcome of today's court proceedings. I do know that Mr. Gordon will be unable to slander my daughter's name in the future or obtain any benefits from the use of Krissy's name. Finally, I do need for the District Attorney's Office to step up and begin the criminal prosecution of Mr. Gordon. The delay in that matter is of great concern to me and my family. We need for District Attorney Howard to act now.”
In a separate statement, Bobbi Kristina's family lawyer Christopher Brown commented, "We have said all along that Nick Gordon was responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown and the harm of losing a child is immeasurable."
Brown's local counsel Craig Terrett added, "We are pleased with the Court's decision today and the damages awarded to Bobby Brown.”
Nick failed to show up for the hearing, which was not the first time he missed a court date. Despite the ruling, Nick has not been criminally charged with Bobbi Kristina's death.
TMZ reports that Gordon doesn't have any money to give Bobbi Kristina's estate. A source said, "You can order a gajillian dollars but what will you collect? One day they may collect part of it. If he wins the lottery."
