All the Reasons Abby Lee Miller Is Scared of Going to Prison
Reality star Abby Lee Miller is getting ready to head to the big house. Abby spoke with “Extra” at her Santa Monica dance studio, Abby Lee Dance Company, where she admitted she is scared of prison.
Miller has been sentenced to a year and a day behind bars for her bankruptcy fraud case, saying, “It's a little surreal.” Preparing for her incarceration, Miller said, “People have said, 'Okay, keep your mouth shut, stay to yourself. If there's an argument, if something's going on, just look the other way, walk away.' That's not me!”
Abby is expected to begin her sentence sometime this summer, revealing, “So many things scare me.” She elaborated, “Am I able to wear socks to bed when I sleep at night? Because my feet cramp. Yup, I know that may sound silly, but that is an actual fear.” Revealing more serious fears concerning her safety, she told “Extra” she is worried about, “Rape, molestation, sexual harassment… I don't want anyone to think I'm patting myself on the back — I'm not. I hope that, you know, they're like, 'Ewwwww...'”
The 51-year-old was charged with attempting to hide $775,000 in secret bank accounts. Abby maintained her innocence, commenting, “I'm just a nice Catholic girl from Pittsburgh… I know that I am not a criminal mastermind.” Blaming it all on the staff she says mismanaged her money, Abby said, “I listened to the wrong people. I trusted people.”
Getting emotional, Abby shared, “I just never had to take care of the money, so I didn't. I put someone else in charge of that, and that was wrong. I was so worried about the dancing and worried about these kids that aren't my own kids and making them winners that I didn't worry about my own win in business.”
