Justin Bieber’s Unexpected Purpose Tour Cancellation, Plus: Why John Mayer Is Defending Him
Singer Justin Bieber has canceled the rest of his Purpose tour "due to unforeseen circumstances."
A statement on his Facebook said that he “hates to disappoint [fans],” but “after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates.”
Justin told TMZ after the big announcement, "I have been on tour for two years. I'm looking forward to just resting, getting some relaxation and we're going to ride some bikes.”
Bieber's manager also apologized for the cancellation of the tour on Instagram, "That was never our intent. But a man's soul and well being I truly care about came first and We must all respect and honor that. Justin will be back and I know he looks forward to performing for you and with you all again. Fellow singer John Mayer defended Bieber's decision to end the tour, tweeting, "When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going. We've lost so many great artists lately. I give Justin [two thumbs up] for realizing it was time to call it. You should too.”
Bieber was scheduled to perform 14 more shows in parts of Asia and North America.
