Cara Santana Recalls Bonding with Meghan Markle over Fashion and Beauty

Everyone is still royally obsessed with the new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
Actress Cara Santana couldn't be happier for her old friend Meghan, telling us, “I watched the wedding and she looked exquisite.”
The two actresses bonded over fashion and beauty in 2013 at their first New York Fashion Week. “We spent a lot of time at New York Fashion Week together and going to fun events. That's how we connected. I think we actually first connected over our hair and how to get a blowout,” Santana laughed. “We sat front row at both BCBG and Max Azaria, and we went out afterward and had a great time. Who would have thought she would be the Duchess of Sussex?!”
“It is just such an important moment I think, as well, for people to embrace a woman of color.” Cara and Meghan met through Cara's fiancé, Jesse Metcalf. The recent royal wedding has inspired some aspects of Santana's upcoming nuptials. “It's a really special place we go to at least twice a year. We're going to do something outside of London.”
Still toasting the royal wedding, Cara helped kick off POPSUGAR x Winemaker's Selection Launch at A.G.O. in West Hollywood. The party had a rich menu of wine and food pairing, and tasting opportunities.
“You need to have good food, good wine and great people… and live music.” Having just wrapped a day of shooting her latest film, “Be the Light” Cara looked forward to unwinding. “I just got off the set… and this is the best way to decompress and relax.” She is excited about the film which revolves around a father-daughter storyline. “It's very timely, socially. It covers very interesting issue regarding healthcare in the United States.”
