Kim Kardashian Reveals Her Real Moneymaker Before Robbery
Just before she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, reality star Kim Kardashian sat down for an interview with “60 Minutes,” where she opened up about her fame.
During her sit-down, correspondent Bill Whitaker asked her if her fame and fortune would exist without social media. She responded, "Not in this way. I totally attribute my career to social media.” Watch here!
As for the downfalls of living her life online and in front of the cameras, Kim explained, "There are pitfalls — lack of privacy, loss of privacy — and that might not be for everyone.”
At the time, she felt that the “pitfalls” of social media wouldn't affect how she lived her life. Kardashian shared, "I do believe that the pros in my situation and my lifestyle have been more beneficial than the negative things."
When Whitaker said that Kim has mastered the act of making millions from just living her life, she agreed, “Yeah, I guess so.”
Kim also responded to criticism that she has no talent, arguing, "It is a talent to have a brand that's really successful off of getting people to like you for you. I would think that has to involve some kind of talent, you know?”
Since the heist, Kim has gone dark on social media. Paris police are still searching for the robbers, but police chief Christian Sainte is “very confident” they will be found. He told Vanity Fair, "It's important because of the implication: Is Paris secure? It's important economically. So that's another reason why it is important for us to solve this case.”
