Jada Pinkett Smith Explains Her ‘Life Partnership’ with Husband Will Smith
Jada Pinkett Smith looked amazing at the “Angel Has Fallen” premiere in L.A.! The star was solo on the red carpet, as she opened up to “Extra's” Renee Bargh about her relationship with husband Will Smith.
The actress and her family have been speaking candidly about their lives on her Facebook Watch show “Red Table Talk.” Jada explained, “It's been helpful for people to know that's okay… Every last one of us is trying to figure this thing — life — out.”
Will recently said the couple doesn't call themselves married anymore. Jada explained, “We're in a life partnership, you know, and just wanting to create that freedom for ourselves, because there are people out here that are really thriving and love being in conventional marriages, [but] we wanted to give that space, honor that space, and know that we wanted to create a space for us that's a bit different.”
She said being honest has made their relationship stronger, “but we did all that before we went to the table.”
Jada said in the upcoming 12 episodes they are going to tackle some “hardcore issues,” adding, “Doing some new things as well. We've got a section called 'Red Table That,' it's a new little part.”
As for her role in “Angel Has Fallen,” she said, “It was so much fun, so much fun being part of a project with Morgan Freeman, Nick Nolte and, of course, Gerard Butler. Little ol' me being able to chase Gerard Butler around with a gun all day. You know, that's not a bad job.”
She went on, “I was really drawn to it because she is the head of the FBI… I love seeing a woman in charge that way, especially a petite lady.”
“Angel Has Fallen” opens August 23.
