Dangerous Stage Accident Happens Before Oscars 2017

Hours before the Oscars took place, there was a mishap onstage.
TMZ reports that a prop came crashing down during rehearsals at the Dolby Theatre. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the prop did cause some damage, with producers scrambling to fix things. Host Jimmy Kimmel was reportedly offstage, but was rehearsing a skit for the show when the accident happened.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed the accident in a statement, saying, "During a rehearsal of tonight's 89th Oscars, part of the set was knocked over. No one was onstage at the time and thankfully, no one was hurt. The set was quickly repaired and will not impact tonight's show.”
