Jennifer Aniston 'Very Sad' About Stalled 'Friends' Reunion... but It's 'Going to Be Super'
Jennifer Aniston admits that the delay in the highly anticipated "Friends" reunion is "very sad" — but she describes her outlook on the show's eventual taping as "optimistic."
Speaking to Deadline, Aniston said of the HBO Max event — postponed due to the coronavirus — is "going to be super."
Looking on the bright side, she said, "This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed."
She reassured anxious fans, "Look, we're not going anywhere. You're never going to get rid of 'Friends' — sorry. You're stuck with us for life, guys.”
The unscripted special had been set to shoot five months ago before the pandemic threw a wrench into the works. Aniston said they did not entertain the idea of trying to shoot it once the danger became apparent, saying, "This is not a safe time. Period. That's the bottom line. It's not a safe time to do it."
Whenever the special happens, it will include all five original "Friends" stars, and will be shot on Stage 24 at Warner Bros., where "Friends" was shot.
