Are Changes Coming to James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show'?
James Corden took over “The Late Late Show” in 2015 as a relative unknown. Flash forward a few years and celebrities are excited to go for a joyride while singing karaoke in his car! He's also been tapped to host this year's Grammys.
In the March issue of Esquire Magazine, the late-night host opens up about his show, rumors of moving time slots, and who influenced his career.
Corden revealed coming changes will make the show “visually better. More ambitious. And also sillier. Those three things… I'm always keen to try new things visually, with openings and sketches. I'd like to film the show somewhere else for a week.”
One thing not changing: the time slot. Some have speculated that he would take the 11:30 p.m. CBS slot from Stephen Colbert, but Corden shared, “It just seems sort of silly to me. I really love him, so I always find it slightly embarrassing.”
When Esquire asked who influenced his career, he said, “The people who influenced me were Chris Evans, Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton, and Wogan and Parkinson... mames that will mean almost nothing to most of the people in this restaurant... in the same way that if you went into a pub in Bradford and talked about Carson, no one would have a clue about who you were talking about.”
