'19 Kids' and Scandal: Why Michelle & Jim Bob Duggar Are NOT Worried About Show’s Future
The Duggar family remains under siege after In Touch Weekly posted a decade-old police report accusing oldest son Josh Duggar of molesting five underage girls. Josh stated on Facebook that he had “acted inexcusably” and was “deeply sorry” for what he called “my wrongdoing” when he was “a young teenager.”
A source close to the family has revealed to People that Jim Bob and Michelle are not currently focused on the very real possibility that they'll lose the TV show: "Right now they're just focused on their faith – and each other.”
Parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are reportedly “devastated” over what they have called “teenage mistakes," and while TLC has pulled reruns of “19 Kids and Counting,” from its schedule, they have not officially cancelled the family's hit reality show.
In a joint statement posted on Facebook, the parents said that Josh's "very bad mistakes" drew the family closer to each other and to God: "We pray that as people watch our lives they see that we are not a perfect family."
“Extra” interviewed the Duggar family back in 2014 for the promotion of their book, “Growing Up Duggar,” in which daughter Jill Duggar noted the imperfections of their family. “We're not a perfect family. We have struggles like everyone else, we're far from perfect.”
Dad Jim Bob, while discussing his daughter's prison ministry, talked about rebuilding your life after making wrong choices. “A lot them made wrong choices in their lives and they were able to encourage a lot of them to start rebuilding their lives and give them some principles to go and make things right with the people they've offended.”
