Harrison Ford Remains Hospitalized After Plane Crash
Actor Harrison Ford remained hospitalized on Sunday after crash-landing his WWII-era plane on a golf course last week, but is definitely “on the mend.”
Ford's son, Chef Ben Ford, reportedly tweeted on Saturday (via ABC News), “We want thank you all for your concern. Dad has the best care possible, on the mend and of strong mind body & spirit.”
Family sources said on Friday that Ford underwent surgery to repair a broken pelvis and ankle. He also suffered from lacerations on his face and arms.
The 72-year-old's rep released a statement on Thursday: "Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He is banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery."
The action star, who is an experienced pilot, is being praised for his emergency golf-course landing because he narrowly avoiding hitting nearby homes.
Last June, Ford broke his leg in a set mishap while filming “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” which hits theatres in December.
