Zombie Boy Rick Genest Dead at 32
Rick Genest, also known as Zombie Boy, has died, reports Canada's iHeartRadio. He was just 32.
Police sources say he died around 5 p.m. Wednesday in his Montreal apartment, and the death has been classified as a suicide.
Genest was covered in tattoos, including an extensive face tat that made him look like a skeleton. He shot to fame after he appeared in Lady Gaga's “Born This Way” music video.
Gaga mourned his death on Twitter, writing, “The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating. We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can't talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today. We must save each other.”
His work with Lady Gaga led to modeling gigs on the runway and in magazines like GQ and Vanity Fair.
Genest made the Guinness World Records list, thanks to his 176 insect tats and 139 bone tats.
He also participated in a jaw-dropping video for Dermablend Professional Tattoo Cover Up, in which he appeared onscreen with no tattoos, then scrubbed away the product to reveal the ink underneath. Watch the video here.
