Kelly Rowland Is Pregnant with Her Second Child — See Her Baby Bump!
Singer Kelly Rowland, 39, has a bun in the oven!
Rowland broke the news in the new issue of Women's Health, even showing off her growing baby bump on the cover of the November issue.
Kelly is pregnant with her second child with husband Tim Weatherspoon. She told the magazine, “We had been talking about it loosely, and then COVID happened, and we were just like, 'Let's see what happens.'”
Kelly, who is due later this year, got pregnant pretty quickly.
While Rowland was hesitant to share the news at first, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she eventually decided to go public. She explained, “But you still want to remind people that life is important. And being able to have a child... I'm knocking at 40's door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me."
Rowland admitted that she felt an “overwhelming sense of exhaustion” after learning she was pregnant. She spent her first trimester mostly resting and doing yoga.
What are her pregnancy cravings? She dished, “I am obsessed with sandwiches. A turkey sandwich with mustard and rye and sprouts and onion and sometimes a little avocado…”
She also craves chocolate and peanut butter.
Kelly and Tim are also the parents of son Titan, who turns 6 in November. She quipped that she will prove she's pregnant to Titan in dinosaur terms, saying, “I'm gonna look like a real dinosaur, with this belly in the middle.”
Rowland also opened up about how police brutality and the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others have affected her during her pregnancy. She said, “I'd just put Titan to bed. I got into the shower, and I had this real hard, ugly, deep cry. Because I promised to protect my kid. That was the main thing I was thinking about: protecting this little innocence.”
Last year, Rowland told People magazine that Titan wanted a baby brother. She commented, “Oh, my gosh, my son keeps asking me for a sibling. But it's just not [the] right timing.”
“He's like, 'We're going to have a brother, Mom,'” she continued. “I said, 'Well, he won't be my brother — he'll be my son — [and] what if it's a girl?' — and to that, Titan's response was, 'No, it's not a girl, it's a brother.'"
