Carrie Underwood Gives Family Update After Terrifying Nashville Tornado

On Tuesday morning, country superstar Carrie Underwood was hundreds of miles away from her Nashville home when a tornado hit the city.

During an appearance on “Today,” Underwood opened up about how her family was affected by the natural disaster. Mentioning husband Mike Fisher, she shared, “He said he had to go upstairs at like 2 a.m. and grab the boys and take them down to, we have a little safe room in our house.”

She added, “I bet everyone was crying at 2 a.m., freaking out.”

Underwood was in New York City to promote her new book “Find Your Path,” which is a fitness guide she wrote with the help of health experts.

Other big names also had Nashville on their minds after the scary tornado. Dierks Bentley revealed that he nearly missed the tornado, tweeting, “We ducked around this cell and landed at John Tune Airport around 11:30 last night. Glad we landed when we did. Wouldn't have been good an hour later. It was the cell that turned into the tornado. Lot of people lost their homes. No one comes together as a city like Nashville does."

Reese Witherspoon tweeted, “Praying for everyone in Nashville and Middle Tennessee dealing with the aftermath of last night's tornado. I'm just heartbroken and saying special prayers for the families who lost loved ones. Please stay safe."

Ryan Seacrest tweeted, “Thinking about my family, friends, and colleagues affected by the Nashville tornado. My heart is with the entire community as they recover from the devastation #IBelieveInNashville."

According to Fox News, at least 22 people died after the tornado damaged dozens of buildings, power lines, and an airport. Nashville Mayor John Cooper told reporters at a press conference, “Last night was a reminder about how fragile life is.”
