Diane Kruger Reveals Gender of First Child with Norman Reedus
Actress Diane Kruger is back to work after welcoming her first child with boyfriend Norman Reedus last month!
Along with promoting her new film “Welcome to Marwen,” Kruger opened up about motherhood with “Extra's” Mark Wright. Joined by her co-star Janelle Monáe, she pointed out, “It's very rewarding.”
Diane appeared to slip on the baby's gender, saying, “She's very little, but I'm tired. I feel like a superhero right now.”
Kruger sports turquoise hair in “Welcome to Marwen,” but would she ever let her daughter dye her hair? While Diane is not convinced she's going to be a fun mom, hair-color choices would be an “easy yes! Go for it — I wish my mom would have allowed me to do that.”
Though she dyed her hair turquoise for the film, it is not something she would do in real life. Kruger explained, “I thought about it beforehand and then I saw it on-screen and was like, 'No, not flattering.'”
“Welcome to Marwen,” based on a true story, is about Mark Hogancamp (played by Steve Carell), a man who struggles to put the pieces of his life back together after an accident wipes away all his memories.
Diane called her character “fantastical.” She added, “I'm sort of the downfall of Mark; I am a metaphor for bad decisions, bad relationships, bad dependency on drugs, but I like that I bring that to life in such an imaginative way... and being the bad girl is always fun to do.
Monáe plays G.I. Julie, who is “trying to get through the traumatic experiences” in war, including losing a limb. She commented, “Taking G.I. Julie over to Marwen and her having a new body and new hairstyle and moving in a way you haven't seen her was so fun.”
“Welcome to Marwen” hits theaters December 21.
