Michael Phelps’ Finger-Wagging Olympic Win
Last night, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps beat rival Chad le Clos to take the gold medal in the Men's 200m Butterfly.
Immediately after the win, Phelps pumped up the crowd while celebrating, even doing some finger-wagging. Watch!
The win, which gave Phelps his 20th gold medal, was sweet revenge since he lost to South Africa's le Clos at the 2012 Olympic Games. At this year's competition, le Clos came in fourth.
An hour after the win, Phelps returned to the Olympic pool to help the USA Team win the men's 4x200 Freestyle Relay. Phelps and teammates Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer and Townley Haas edged out Great Britain and Japan to take home the gold for the US.
Another US swimmer is also being celebrated… Katie Ledecky, who on the same night took home the gold in the 200m Freestyle after beating Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom and Australia's Emma McKeon. It was her second gold medal in this year's games.
The 19-year-old told reporters, "It's the closest I've come to throwing up at the end of a race. I was just glad to get my hand on the wall first. It was a stressful race and I feel good now it's over. I took it pretty fast and forced everyone and once I was ahead I was not going to let it out of my hands."
