Rosie O’Donnell Reveals Reason Behind Donald Trump-Inspired Parody After ‘Disaster!’ Performance
Last night, Rosie O'Donnell was back on Broadway, making a guest appearance following a performance of the musical “Disaster!” to help raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
She also expressed her displeasure over Donald Trump running for president by singing a Donald Trump-inspired parody of Grease's “There Are Worse Things I Could Do" (watch it here). With good friend and “Disaster!” co-writer/star Seth Rudetsky at her side, Rosie made her stance very clear only to “Extra,” saying, "He will never be president and I will not say his name — that's all I have to say about him.”
When asked how she felt about the news that 69% of Americans are not impressed by Trump, O'Donnell answered, “America is really about civility and compassion and understanding and love, so is this show, 'Disaster!,' it's about family and future and those are the things you don't associate with him.”
Rosie also expressed how thrilled she was to see FOX News' Megyn Kelly challenge him over his comments about her and women in general. She shared, “In the same way that I know he is getting away with saying these horrible racist things like they are facts, and no one in the news media is challenging him, so I was very happy that she challenged him and said, 'No, it's not true, it's not only Rosie, there a lot of women that you accosted on a visceral level' — and he has done it for too long.” She added, “Pay no attention to the man behind the orange fake tan.”
The 54-year-old is paying attention to Hillary Clinton, but don't expect her to sing a song about the Democratic candidate. “I don't think she needs one, really, but I will show up for her whenever she asks and I believe in her and that she will lead us towards the light.”
