The couple — who have tested positive for the virus — posted a photo from quarantine to let fans know how they are doing.
Tom wrote, "Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness.”
He continued, “We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?"
Referencing their baseball caps and his 1992 classic movie "A League of Their Own," Hanks signed off with, "Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx.”
Rita shared on Instagram Stories that she had her watercolors and songwriting notebook with her, and was “trying to stay creative while corona-ing.”
She also recruited fans to help her make a “quarantunes” playlist on Spotify. They suggested songs like Richard Marx's “Right Here Waiting for You” and Eric Carmen's “All By Myself.”
Meanwhile, other public figures have been diagnosed as well.
Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie, tested positive.
Trudeau addressed the nation on Friday, saying that “Sophie's symptoms remain mild, but we are following medical advice and taking every precaution. She will remain in isolation for the time being.”
He added, “On my doctor's recommendation I will remain in isolation for 14 days. I want to be clear; I have no symptoms and I'm feeling good. Technology allows me to work from home.”
Matthew Broderick's sister was also recently diagnosed, reports People. The reverend started to show symptoms after attending the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes conference in Louisville, Kentucky, where another guest was also later found to have COVID-19.
Janet's initial prognosis, after returning to L.A., was a viral syndrome. She was later admitted to an ICU, where she tested positive for the Coronavirus. She is now stable, but being treated for severe pneumonia.
The NBA temporarily suspended the rest of the season after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus.
Gobert confirmed his diagnosis on Instagram. He wrote, "I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours. I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment... I am under great care and will fully recover. Thank you again for all your support. I encourage everyone to take all of the steps to stay safe and healthy. Love."
Acknowledging an incident from only days earlier, when he touched the phones and mics of several members of the press in defiance of protocols before he knew he was infected, Gobert said, "The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus."

Gobert's teammate Donovan Mitchell has also tested positive. He wrote on Instagram, “Thanks to everyone who has been reaching out since hearing the news about my positive test. We are all learning more about the seriousness of this situation and hopefully people can continue to educate themselves and realize that they need to behave responsibly both for their own health and for the well being of those around them. I appreciate the authorities in Oklahoma who were helpful with the testing process and everyone from the @utahjazz who have been so supportive. I am going to keep following the advice of our medical staff and hope that we can all come together and be there for each other and our neighbors who need our help❤️🕷.”
Other athletes suffering from the coronavirus include footballers Daniele Rugani of Italy and Timo Huber of Germany.
