Matthew McConaughey Says America Should ‘Embrace’ the Fact That Trump Is President
While promoting his new film “Gold,” actor Matthew McConaughey is also speaking out on the political climate in America.
Though much of Hollywood has expressed its disapproval of President Trump, McConaughey is taking a different approach. He told the BBC's Andrew Marr, "Well, they don't have a choice now, he's our president. It's very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time that we've ever had. At the same time, it's time for us to embrace, shake hands with this fact, and be constructive with him over the next four years.” Watch!

He went on to say, “It's time to think about how constructive can you be, because he's our president for the next four years, at least — president of the United States."
McConaughey sat down for the interview before Trump signed some of his controversial executive orders, including the one barring immigrants from seven majority-Muslim nations. Matthew's wife Camila Alves was born in Brazil and became a U.S. citizen two years ago.
