Tasya van Ree Speaks Out About Ex Amber Heard’s Domestic Violence Arrest
Tasya van Ree is speaking out in defense of her ex-girlfriend Amber Heard.
Amber and ex Tasya van Ree were allegedly involved in an altercation at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in which Amber grabbed Tasya's arm. She was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence.
Following the arrest, Amber appeared in court, where the prosecutor decided not to move on with the assault case.
Van Ree has now released a statement explaining what happened.
“In 2009, Amber was wrongfully accused for an incident that was misinterpreted and over-sensationalized by two individuals in a power position,” she said. “I recount hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which later appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just 'friends.'”
She continued, “Charges were quickly dropped and she was released moments later. It's disheartening that Amber's integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together and remain close to this day.”
Around the same time Tasya gave her statement, Amber was spotted looking noticeably thinner while visiting famous domestic violence psychologist Dr. Connell Cowan in Los Angeles, X17 reports. After the visit, she also dropped by her lawyer's office.
Amber is in the middle of an ugly divorce from Johnny Depp, who she claims hit her with an iPhone. Despite her facial bruises, two concierges who work in the building where the couple lived claim they did not see any bruises after the alleged attack. One resident in the building told TMZ, "I was about to compliment her on her complexion.”
Amber's friend iO Tillett Wright is taking Amber's side, tweeting, "I've had enough. I saw the bruises. Many times. And the fat lip. And the cut head."
