War of Words! Katy Perry Blames Taylor Swift for Ugly Feud
On last night's Carpool Karaoke segment on “The Late Late Show with James Corden," Katy Perry directly addressed her feud with Taylor Swift.
After singing her new single “Swish Swish,” rumored to be about Taylor, Corden asked about the beef between the two hitmakers. Perry responded, "She started it and it's time for her to finish it.”
Katy went on, "I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn't speak to me. I do the right thing any time it feels like a fumble. [I got] a full shut-down, and then she writes a song about me ['Bad Blood']… That's how you want to deal with it? Karma.”
Katy called out Taylor, but seemingly really does want the feud to be over, saying, "I'm ready for that B.S. to be done… There's the law of cause and effect: You do something, there's going to be a reaction.”
In 2014, Taylor revealed that her song "Bad Blood" was inspired by a pop star who “tried to sabotage an entire arena tour” by hiring some of her backup dancers.
Taylor's friend Ruby Rose recently slammed Katy for the release of “Swish Swish.” Last week, Rose tweeted and then deleted, "I just think with everything going on in the world to go from rebranding as political activist only to ditch it and go low.. is.. a bummer.” Rose would go on to distance herself from the drama, tweeting, "Being mean doesn't suit me and leaves me feeling dirty. Truth is being mean leaves more leaks in your camp than the titanic and I get so triggered when I think bullies don't get held accountable and it makes me think I should say something. But it's [my] not place.”
