Martha Stewart’s Younger Brother Dies ‘Suddenly and Unexpectedly’
Martha Stewart is mourning the loss of her youngest brother, George Christiansen. The 65-year-old died unexpectedly last week.
Stewart's spokeswoman Susan Magrino told Page Six, “Martha lost her youngest brother, George, suddenly and unexpectedly earlier this [past] week. The family requests that you respect their privacy during this time of sorrow.”
The paper says the cause of death was likely a heart attack.
George, who lived on a ranch in Fairfield, Connecticut, owned Pequot Remodeling, and helped renovate Stewart's famous Westport farmhouse on Turkey Hill Road. His wife, Rita, worked for Stewart's company.
Martha, 75, lost her youngest sister Laura Kostyra Plimpton, 59, in 2014; Plimpton died from a massive brain aneurysm.
