'Extra' Nominated for 2018 Daytime Emmy Award!
"Extra" is honored to have received a fifth consecutive Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Entertainment News Program.
We made TV history as the first show ever to win in the category in 2014, and took home the top prize again in 2016.
Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey said, "Thank you to the Academy for honoring us for the fifth time. I'm extremely proud of the entire 'Extra' team both in front of and behind the camera. They work tirelessly to deliver an Emmy-worthy entertainment news show to our loyal and dedicated viewers every day.”
“Crime Watch Daily,” created by Gregorisch-Dempsey, is also in the running for a Daytime Emmy, for Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing.
The Daytime Emmys are where TV judges face off with each other, and where game shows, morning shows, and talk shows do battle.
The co-hosts of “The Talk” announced the nominations. They are up against “The Real,” "The View," “Live with Kelly & Ryan,” and the queen of daytime talk… Ellen!
When it comes to soaps, “General Hospital,” "Days of Our Lives,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and “The Young and the Restless” will face off for Best Daytime Drama.
Megyn Kelly also earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Informative Talk Show, going up against ABC's "The Chew," "Larry King Now," "The Dr. Oz Show" and "Steve Harvey."
The 45th Annual Daytime Emmys, co-hosted by "Extra's" Mario Lopez and "The Talk's" Sheryl Underwood, will take place April 29 at Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
