‘The People v. O.J. Simpson': What You Should Know About Connie Britton’s Faye Resnick

Faye Resnick is making headlines again, thanks to "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” but not everyone is familiar with the interior designer.

The series is a depiction of O.J. Simpson's arrest, trial, and acquittal for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, and has brought back many famous faces from the sensationalized trial, including Resnick.

These days, Faye is best known for her friendship with Kyle Richards and guest spots on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” but that wasn't always the case.

Resnick, portrayed by Connie Britton in the mini-series, ran in the same circles as Nicole and Kris Jenner in the '90s. There are even claims she was staying at Nicole's condo just days before the murders.

In the midst of the media frenzy surrounding Nicole's murder, Faye released two books about the case, “Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted” in 1994 and “Shattered: In the Eye of the Storm” in 1996.

The media attention led to other opportunities for Resnick, including a Playboy cover in 1997.

Resnick and Jenner are still friends today. Faye appeared on a Season 10 episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

They even shared a scene together in “The People v. O.J. Simpson” premiere with Resnick asking Kris if she knew Nicole had proof of past abuse. Resnick (Britton) asked, "Did you ever see the pictures of her face after he laid into her? You know she hid them away just in case something happened.”

Looking back at the case, the real Resnick told People, "All I can say is, for me, it was personally the most heartbreaking tragedy that altered my life forever. On average, two women every week die from domestic abuse. To lose my loving friend Nicole, who seemed at one point to defy these odds, is beyond devastating. The thought of reliving the events of her death and the trial that followed is catastrophic for all who knew and loved Nicole and Ron [Goldman].”

She continued, “My only wish is that the series will bring to the forefront the horrors of domestic abuse that roughly 3.5 million women continue to experience every year. Instead of opening painful wounds for many people, or becoming a pointless media circus, I'm hoping this series serves as another chance to remind the American public that domestic abuse remains a lethal issue, even 22 years after this nightmare."
