Cardi B & Offset’s Split — What Went Wrong?
On Tuesday, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage, leaving fans to wonder what happened.
One source put the blame squarely on infidelity, claiming to People magazine, “Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time [they've been together], but Cardi looked the other way because of the baby. She also didn't want to be embarrassed. But she's had enough."
Another insider told E! News, “Cardi does not trust Offset. She's really tried for the last two years and has tried to forgive him. It's been hard for her since the last cheating scandal and there have been rumors of him being unfaithful again."
“He has been pleading with her that he hasn't, but many girls have come forward with claims. She had enough and decided to file,” the insider claimed.
Two years ago, Offset was accused of cheating after a video surfaced of an alleged liaison with another woman.
Amid cheating rumors, Cardi announced that they had split. In a now-deleted video, she said, “So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I've been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. We are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know he's always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven't been working out between us for a long time.”
“It's nobody fault. I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore,” Cardi continued. “I don't know, it might take time to get a divorce and I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father.”
Offset would go through great measures to win Cardi back, including crashing her set at the t the Rolling Loud Festival at the Banc of California Stadium in L.A. In a video, Offset also apologized to Cardi, saying, “I only got one birthday wish and that's to get my wife back Cardi. We're going through a lot of things right now, a lot of things in the media. I want to apologize to you Cardi. I embarrassed you. I made you go crazy."

Offset acknowledged his behavior, saying, “I was partaking in activity that I shouldn't have been partaking in, and I apologize. You know what I'm saying? For breaking your heart, for breaking our promise, for breaking God's promise and being a selfish, messed up husband. I'm trying to be a better person. I want to get this off my shoulders. I want to get this off my back. I apologize to you Cardi. I love you."
The pair would reconcile in early 2019. She told “Extra” during Super Bowl weekend, “We're working things out… work in progress.”
