Bobbi Kristina Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death, Bobby Brown Speaks Out

The cause of Bobbi Kristina Brown's death has been revealed.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said it reviewed Bobbi's medical records, investigative files, toxicology tests, and other documents to determine how she died.

According to them, she died of pneumonia and encephalopathy, meaning her lungs were filled with water, and brain damage caused by oxygen loss. The “underlying cause” of Bobbi Kristina's death was “immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication.” The drugs found in her system included marijuana, alcohol, a cocaine-related substance called benzoylecgonine, benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety medications), and morphine, but the office couldn't determine if the morphine was the result of heroin use.

Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in a tub before she was rushed to the hospital in late January last year.

Her death is eerily similar to mother's; Whitney Houston was also found in a bathtub. The cause of Whitney's death was drowning due to atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.

The medical examiner's office said in a statement regarding Bobbi Kristina's autopsy, "Death was clearly not due to natural causes, but the medical examiner has not been able to determine whether death was due to intentional or accidental causes, and has therefore classified the manner of death as undetermined.''

After the results were unsealed, Bobbi Kristina's dad Bobby Brown said in a statement, “First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter's autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family.”

Bobby's lawyer Christopher Brown added, "Yesterday we were informed that two news affiliates were granted access to the autopsy of Bobbi Kristina Brown. While this action is unsettling, we will continue in our efforts in the civil lawsuit and the criminal investigation. Bobby Brown has had to be strong and mourn his loved ones in a fashion that is foreign to most people. So public, so raw, with apparently no end in sight. Hopefully public indictments and prosecution will lead to private healing and closure for Bobby Brown and his family.”
