Vanessa Bryant's Heartbreaking New Message for Kobe After His Death
More than a week after Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna lost their lives in a helicopter crash, Vanessa Bryant is still grieving.
On Wednesday, Vanessa posted a pic of a smiling Kobe, writing on Instagram, "Miss you so much... Miss you saying, 'Bonjourno principessa/reina.'" She also added the hashtags #mybestfriend, #theBestdaddy, #handsome, #sweet, #funny, #silly, #lovinghusband.
Vanessa also posted the video of Kobe participating in the "Extra" Rapid-Fire Quiz. She captioned the video with a heart emoji.
A source told People magazine, “The shock hasn't entirely worn off. She's very tired; she hasn't been sleeping. She's worried about her girls, worried about what happens next.”
Vanessa has reportedly been surrounded by loved ones as she faces life without Kobe and Gianna. The insider claimed, “She's got people around her who are helping her: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally. She has spent the last week surrounded by people who love her and want only the best for her. She's really being loved and cared for. And so are the girls.”
Another source noted that Vanessa has been “touched” by all the tributes to Kobe and Gianna. They added, “Every memorial means something to her. Every memorial is important.”
Bryant will be honored at Sunday's Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre. He took home an Oscar in 2018 for his work on “Dear Basketball.”
Vanessa has also requested some of the items left by thousands of fans at the makeshift memorial at Staples Center, where he played for most of his career with the Lakers. Over the past week, fans left basketballs, flowers, banners, candles, and signs to remember Kobe and Gianna, who was also one of the nine victims in the crash.
Last week, Vanessa broke her silence on the tragedy. She wrote on Instagram, “My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who've shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them. We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.”
Vanessa also shared at that time, “We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately.”
She stressed that the family is in pain, writing, “There aren't enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved. We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here with us forever. They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon.”

View StoryVanessa continued, “I'm not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it's impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way. Our love for them is endless — and that's to say, immeasurable. I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever.
Bryant also brought attention to the Mamba on Three Foundation Fund to help support the other victims of the crash — John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli; Sarah and Payton Chester; Christina Mauser; and pilot Ara Zobayan.
