Simon Cowell Reflects on His Joke About Mel B’s Marriage — Does He Regret It?

Last night, Simon Cowell and Mel B were back on the “AGT” stage after Simon's joke about her marriage last week caused her to throw water on him and storm off the stage.
Simon spoke with “Extra's” Terri Seymour after the live show, where he seemed to show some remorse for upsetting Mel — but maybe only some!
He said, “I was the one who got soaked, so I should be mad at her. She's fine. I'm fine. Just one of those things, Terri. We got over it.”
When Terri asked if he regrets his comments, Simon replied, “Not really. I was trying to make light of something… I thought she'd have a sense of humor. She lost it.”
Cowell admitted it might not have been the best joke since Mel is going through a messy divorce, calling it "maybe not the best timing in the world."
Simon hasn't sent Mel any apology gifts yet, but he did apologize! “No, I will," he said when asked about any peace offerings. "Sorry, Mel! I'll send her a puppy or something.”
Earlier in the night, Simon showed his support for plane crash survivor and Houston native Kechi Okwuchi after her powerful performance of “By the Grace of God.” He gushed, “It was special. I have a lot of respect for her.”
