Kelly Rowland Thinks Beyoncé Was Robbed of an Emmy for ‘Homecoming’
Kelly Rowland was with “Extra's” Renee Bargh to talk fitness and her new Fabletics collection. The singer also shared her thoughts on Beyoncé's Emmy snub.
Beyoncé's Netflix concert film “Homecoming” was nominated for six Emmys and the superstar did not bring one home, leading many to say she was robbed. Kelly agreed with the naysayers, noting, “Only because I know she lost sleep. I know… it was like homecoming, the culture of it, the pride of it, the passion behind it, um, the countless sleepless hours. I know what those are, and I know what those were for her, so, yeah, I do think she was robbed.”
Beyoncé and Kelly haven't worked out together in a while, but they do work it on the dance floor, “Oh, man, actually we need to get a workout in, so that would be fun… like, we all dance when we go out, like, we go dancing — that's a workout.” She said the two are usually the last to leave.
Kelly danced with Bey and their other former Destiny's Child member, Michelle Williams, for the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. What are her thoughts on the big news that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be taking the stage this year? “That is sexy, that is so sexy," she offered. Sharing her experience, she said, "My stomach was in my eye… that's how excited and anxious and nervous you feel like.”
Rowland revealed she is working on her own new music, saying, “Yes, there is music coming very soon. I am over the moon… I am very excited about this phase.”
Kelly is feeling and looking great, and credits her workouts at L.A.'s Dog Pound. She said she does "a lot of high-intensity training. I do low-intensity training, weights.”
She shared of her Kelly Rowland x Fabletics Fall collection, “We have so many different textures and feelings and I wanted everything to be really beautiful on the body.”
