Donald Trump Beats All Odds to Become President of the United States
America has voted… and the President of the United States will be Donald Trump!
Despite stirring up controversy throughout his campaign, Trump was able to beat Hillary Clinton in the electoral college by overperforming vote projections in the swing states and by picking off states Clinton needed to win, including Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Secretary Clinton reportedly called Trump to concede in the early-morning hours of Wednesday, congratulating him and his supporters, according to Trump. President-elect Trump gave a gracious speech at the New York Hilton, in which he praised his arch-rival for her decades of service. Watch!
Clinton is expected to speak Wednesday.
Just a week before the election, “Extra's” AJ Calloway caught up with Trump, who spoke about what he was planning to do in the first 100 days in the White House. He said, "Well, I'd start immediately lowering taxes. I would repeal and replace Obamacare with something much better and much less expensive. Obamacare is a total disaster. I would make sure that drugs stop flowing into this country. They're coming in from the southern border to a large extent just flowing in. I mean you can buy drugs in New Hampshire cheaper than candy."
Though every predictive model saw Clinton winning, Trump was confident he would prevail, saying, “I really think we're going to make it.”
Throughout his campaign, Trump had the support of big names like Sarah Palin, Stephen Baldwin, Omarosa Manigault, and Ann Coulter.
