Melissa McCarthy & Yanic Truesdale Have ‘Gilmore Girls’ Reunion — Is She Returning for the Netflix Revival?
Over the weekend, Melissa McCarthy had a sweet reunion with her "Gilmore Girls” co-star Yanic Truesdale, which had many fans super excited at the possibility that she would appear in the Netflix revival of the show.
On Sunday, Truesdale posted a selfie with Melissa, who played Sookie in “Gilmore Girls."
To avoid sparking any rumors that Melissa could be involved in the revival, Yanic captioned the sweet pic, "Scotch, great meal and catching up with my old friend @melissamccarthy, can't ask for more! Dont read anything into it guys."
In February, Melissa said she wouldn't be part of the revival since she wasn't asked to appear. Creator Amy Sherman previously told TVLine, "She's really f**king busy. But the thing I have said [to her team] is, 'Look, if Melissa is available and has an afternoon free, I'll write her a scene. Melissa was one of us. If she has a spare moment to run over [to the set] – even if for just a cameo – we would be totally game. And if it's a last-minute thing, I would write her in and we would figure it out. That's the way we left it.”
After "Gilmore Girls” ended in 2007, McCarthy forged a successful career with hit films, including “Bridesmaids,” “Spy,” and “The Heat."
