Meghan Markle Breaks Her Silence on Dad’s Medical Emergency

It's been a drama-filled week for Meghan Markle, who is less than two days away from marrying Prince Harry!

Earlier this week, Meghan's father revealed that he had a serious heart attack, which damaged his heart. As a result, he started experiencing chest pains and had to undergo heart surgery on Wednesday. After a successful operation, Thomas told TMZ, “I'm okay. It will take a long time to heal. Staying in the hospital a few more days. Not allowed to get excited."

Meghan has officially confirmed that he won't be attending the wedding in a statement, saying, “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health."

She added, “I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”

It has been rumored that Meghan's mom Doria Ragland will step up and walk her down the aisle at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

On the same day that Meghan released her statement, she and Prince Harry were spotted heading to their wedding rehearsal together.

Despite all her family drama, a source told Us Weekly, “Harry and Meghan are still very excited for Saturday. Meghan's mother, Doria [Ragland], is with her at Kensington Palace right now and her friends are here in town. Everyone is really excited for a magical and special day.”
