Thomas Gibson’s Secret Divorce from Wife After More Than 20 Years of Marriage
Though Thomas Gibson is currently in the headlines for his “Criminal Minds” firing, he was able to hide his secret divorce for nearly two years!
In documents obtained by “Extra,” Gibson filed for divorce from his wife Christine after 21 years of marriage in the summer of 2014. In the court papers, he said, "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities... that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”
Christine responded to the papers by filing a “general denial.”
In December 2015, Gibson filed a counter-petition to reaffirm his stance, but no other filings have been made. If there is no more movement on the case by October 25, it will be dismissed.
Aside from his divorce drama, he has reportedly hired a lawyer while he decides whether to pursue a possible lawsuit against “Criminal Minds” producers, THR reports. After being fired, he said in a statement, "I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won't be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and most importantly, the best fans a show could ever hope to have.”
