Katy Perry Talks Pregnancy in Quarantine: ‘I’m Grateful I’m Not Giving Birth Tomorrow’
“American Idol” was back last night with live shows featuring the judges and host Ryan Seacrest doing their work from home as all 20 contestants performed remotely.
“Extra's” Renee Bargh spoke with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan via Zoom. Katy, 35, gave a pregnancy update on how she is feeling while being quarantined, saying, “I'm doing very well, all things considered. Thank you. There's a lot to think of… I'm grateful that I'm not giving birth tomorrow. It's a one-day-at-a-time situation, always being open to the unknown and exploring options.”
Perry is expecting her first child, a girl, with fiancé Orlando Bloom.

I'm used to jet-setting around and being really busy, now I feel we've laid a new foundation within our family, there's a bond that's even stronger. We have some horrible days where I want to cry, but I believe when we look back at this, for myself, it will be this beautiful bond that we created.”
“American Idol” is making history with its first virtual auditions. Lionel pointed out, “We have never done this before. Ever. So what you're watching is the first time for them and the first time for the judges.”
“Do you think this makes things more difficult or easier for the artists in some ways?” Renee asked. Luke responded, “Whoever will be able to play to the camera, play to the iPhone, and really sound good, will be the 'American Idol' winner.”
