John Cena Is Thankful for Vin Diesel’s Help with ‘Fast & Furious,’ Plus: Will He Return to WWE?
John Cena is one of the busiest men in Hollywood. Not only is the WWE superstar hosting Nickelodeon's new “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,” he is also joining one of the biggest movie franchises, “Fast & Furious."
“Extra” was with Cena today where he dished on the new movie role.
“I'm really super excited,” he said. “I have to thank Vin Diesel for kind of orchestrating this; he sent out an Instagram message a long time ago to get this snowball rolling, and I am so grateful to be part of such a storied franchise.”
John said it didn't take any convincing. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime," he said. He played coy on whether he will do his own stunts, noting, “The action in the movie will be great.”
As for taking on fifth-graders he laughed, “I am not smarter than a fifth-grader.” He went on to reveal, “I was kind of nervous going into it because it's a re-boot of a very famous franchise, but the re-boot was spectacular because Nickelodeon did the right thing by placing more emphasis on the kids.”
Cena explained, “I get to be the goofball host that is the butt of a lot of the jokes." He added that he hopes families watch together.
Will families get to see him return to the WWE ring?

The product is getting faster and faster… It's kind of taking stock in where the program is… I would love to fit in… I just have to continually watch the landscape and see what the next step is.” He is considering a role off camera, saying, “I would even coach… I love WWE more than anything.”
“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” airs Mondays at 7 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
