Tom Brady & Gisele Bündchen Vacation in Costa Rica Before Announcing He’s Leaving the Patriots
Before making a big announcement about his football career, superstar quarterback Tom Brady cleared his head on a trip to Costa Rica with wife Gisele Bündchen.
Last week, Tom, 42, and Gisele, 39, were seen packing on the PDA as they enjoyed a day at the beach.
While Tom opted for a white tee and shirts, Gisele put her hot body on display in a black bikini.
Days later, Brady broke the news that he's leaving the New England Patriots after 20 years. He wrote on Instagram, “Although my football journey will take place elsewhere, I appreciate everything that we have achieved and am grateful for our incredible TEAM accomplishments. I have been privileged to have had the opportunity to know each and everyone of you, and to have the memories we've created together.”
Brady will test out free agency and see what other teams have to offer. He shared, “I don't know what my football future holds but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will always love you and what we have shared — a lifetime full of fun memories.”
"The Herd" host Colin Cowherd claims Brady will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On his radio show, Colin said, "Tom Brady signs tomorrow with Tampa Bay. He has made a decision. I am told Tampa is the choice and he will sign tomorrow."
Brady made sure to show some love for the fans, saying, “I love your committment and loyalty to your teams and winning for out city means more than you will ever know… I have been so blessed to share them with you all.”
“I tried to represent us always in the best and most honorable way, and I fought hard with my teammates to help bring victory and triumph even in the most dire situations,” Tom added. “You opened your heart to me, and I opened my heart to you.”
Rumors of Brady's departure have been rampant for months. After the Patriots lost in the first round of the playoffs this year, he remained coy on his future with the team, telling reporters, “Who knows what the future holds? We'll leave it at that.”
Brady went on, “I love the Patriots. They have the greatest organization. Playing for Mr. Kraft all these years and coach Belichick, there's nobody who has had a better career than me, just being with them. I'm very blessed. I don't know what the future looks like, so I'm not going to predict it.”
Brady, who has played in six winning Super Bowls, was drafted by the team in 2000.
To fuel more rumors, his suite at Gillette Stadium, where Gisele watches the games, was “cleaned out.” Greg Hill shared on his show, “It would appear to be, by those who are in the know; that it has been cleaned out in a way that perhaps it has never been cleaned out before.”
Over the summer, Tom and Gisele also put their Boston mansion on the market for $35 million.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft shared his reaction to Tom's news, telling ESPN, "Tommy initiated contact last night & came over. We had a positive, respectful discussion. It's not the way I want it to end, but I want him to do what is in his best personal interest. After 20 years with us, he has earned that right. I love him like a son.”Just a day before Brady's big announcement, Bündchen took to Instagram to discuss the coronavirus pandemic. She posted a series of photos, writing, “What is happening in the world is the ultimate reminder that we are all connected to each other and what we choose to do it going to affect us all. For this moment of crisis, we need to understand the importance of physical distancing. We need to protect each other so we don't get sick and can all stay well together.”
She emphasized, “Even if you are young and healthy, we all need to follow the recommended protocols and precautions because in doing so we can end up saving someone's life - particularly the elderly and those who are sick and immunocompromised.”
