Tracy Morgan Reveals His Bucket List After Near-Fatal Car Crash
“Extra's” AJ Calloway sat down with Tracy Morgan as he was promoting his Netflix comedy special “Staying Alive.”
The special focuses on Morgan's life after he nearly died in a 2014 car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury and unable to walk for months. He told AJ, “I'm family with you and I was fighting… I had to stay alive, man.”
A year later, Morgan was able to perform his first stand-up comedy show and his outlook on life was forever changed. He said, “I had to fight to get on that stage… I almost died 2 years ago, I got nothing to complain about, I ain't mad at nobody.”
Along with spreading love and taking care of his family, Tracy is hoping to tackle things on his bucket list, like, “Get in shape and go to the top of Mount Everest.”
“I'm gonna climb it — I'm not afraid. You get hit by a Walmart truck, you afraid of nothing,” Tracy emphasized.
Of his special, he teased, “I wanted to tell my story while it was fresh in my mind, in a funny way… People are gonna laugh when they see it.”
Tracy is also hoping to deliver more punch lines on “Saturday Night Live,” which will air its season finale May 20. Will he be on it? He hinted, “Of course, I always go home."
“Staying Alive” premieres May 16.
