Naomie Harris on Meghan Markle: 'I Really Sympathize'
Naomie Harris hit the red carpet Monday nigh in NYC for the premiere of her new thriller "Black and Blue."
"Extra" spoke with the British star about Meghan Markle, who recently opened up in "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” about her struggles as a royal.
Harris, who received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) award from the Queen for her services to drama, told "Extra," "I think that the British media is really, really, tough, and it's very, very difficult to handle. I'm sure as an American it has to be a huge culture shock to learn how to handle them. I really sympathize, I really do."
In "Black and Blue," Harris plays a rookie New Orleans police officer who witnesses a fellow officer killing an informant — and who catches it all on her body camera. Naomie said, "The relationship between the African-American community and the police, I just love that the movie does [explore] that."

View StoryShe went on to say, "I love this movie. It's exactly what I have always wanted to be part of. I took a break from acting... This is a definite reason to come back."
Harris explained of her sabbatical, "I just needed a break. I have come back reinvigorated. I'm really in love with what I am doing."
"Black and Blue" is in theaters October 25.
