David Cassidy Falls Off Stage During Farewell Concert — Was He Drunk?
UPDATE: David Cassidy has just revealed that he's struggling with dementia.
Over the weekend, singer David Cassidy fell off a stage while performing at a concert near Los Angeles
Cassidy sparked rumors that he was intoxicated after appearing to slur his words, forgetting lyrics, and taking long pauses before songs during the Agoura Hills concert. TMZ obtained a video of Cassidy at his concert.
David was on his farewell tour, which wrapped Sunday in Santa Barbara.
The 66-year-old has been open about his battle with alcoholism in the past, telling Piers Morgan in 2014, "If I take another drink, I'm going to die, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. I'm dead. You know, they say it's a slippery slope... It's not a slippery slope. It's from 12:00 to 6:00 on the clock and the whole face is ice. One sip, one drink, because there is no such a thing, not to an alcoholic. You have one and you're — you're done. I'd be done.”
At the time, Cassidy had checked into rehab for the third time after a 2013 DUI arrest. He had also been arrested for DUI in 2010.
In December, “Extra's” Charissa Thompson caught up with David Cassidy, who opened up on rehab and alcoholism.
While at Universal Studios Hollywood, he shared, “There's hundreds of people on this planet that suffer from addiction, and in my case... it was drugs and alcohol... I had to just go into rehab and three months and it changed my life. My life has turned around personally."
